I grew up in Michigan watching my mother find ways to fit creativity into a busy, working suburban life and when she was alive she always encouraged me to find the time for my own creative pursuits. Although I chose to study Anthropology in college and somehow ended up in a career in Technology, I’ve always drifted back to the simple joy of the creative act. The wonderful mystery of how it unfolds and the “happy accidents” that appear out of nowhere. Bob knew what he was talking about.

After college I felt the call to return to the land of my forebears and moved to Tennessee where I have lived for over a decade and felt myself truly at home. The South, and more importantly, Appalachia have always captured my imagination. The landscapes, animals, people, and traditions profoundly speak to me. Through my art I hope to capture a slice of that quintessential American experience.
